The Orange County Labor Federation, AFL-CIO hosted its second
Candidate
Academy
on Saturday, April 5, 2008. The
Candidate
Academy
is an educational workshop for those seeking union endorsements in their bids for local, state and federal offices. The
Orange
County
Labor
Federation
Candidate
Academy
introduces and reminds candidates of working families’ priorities in 2008. To date, sixty-two elected leaders and candidates have attended one of our 2008 Candidate Academies.
On April 5, there were candidates running for office in
Anaheim
,
Irvine
and
Fountain Valley
who heard first-hand about the issues confronting
Orange
County
’s working families and labor’s political priorities. A special thank you to Teamsters 952, UFCW, OCEA, SEIU-UHW, SEIU 1877, SEIU 721 and IBEW 441 for leading engaging presentations and discussions at the Academy.
